Soffit and Fascia Cleaning in East Sussex Bringing the white back to uPVC.
Those black streaks and green patches down the fascia boards aren't permanent. We clean uPVC soffits, fascia, and cladding with a ground-based soft-wash system. Fixed price, no ladders, a properly white finish.
Why grubby fascia isn't a replacement job
The plastic isn't gone off. It's just dirty.
You stand back from the house. Windows are clean, garden’s tidy, but the white fascia boards look tired. Black streaks below every corner. A green tinge on the shaded side. A sooty line under the gutter where the overflow used to run.
Most people assume the plastic has “gone off” and can’t be saved. It’s a fair assumption. uPVC does yellow with age. But nine times out of 10, it isn’t the plastic that’s the problem. It’s a build-up of algae, airborne dirt, and pollution sitting on the surface.
A proper soft wash takes all of that off and leaves the uPVC looking like it did when it was fitted. It’s a small job that transforms the look of a house. And it’s a lot cheaper than replacing the boards.
Soft-wash explained
How our soft-wash system works
Soft-wash is a low-pressure cleaning method designed for delicate exterior surfaces. High-pressure jet washing can damage uPVC by forcing water behind seals and into soffit vents, and it can pit the plastic itself. Soft-wash uses a gentle chemical solution, applied with a soft brush head on a telescopic pole, then rinsed with pure water.
The cleaning solution is biodegradable and safe to rinse into normal drainage. We work around plants, pets, and ponds carefully. If you’ve got anything sensitive in the garden, tell us when you book.
What makes it work
Three reasons soft-wash beats pressure washing
Gentle on uPVC
The soft-wash solution breaks down algae, soot, and traffic film without abrasion. A soft brush loosens anything stubborn. Nothing scratches the plastic, so the finish comes back properly rather than looking scoured.
Safe on Paint and Render
We keep the soft-wash well clear of painted surfaces, render, and brickwork, and rinse anything adjacent with pure water afterwards. Tell us about any painted bargeboards or render panels next to uPVC on booking so we can plan around them.
Ground-Based, No Ladder Damage
The pole reaches up to most two-storey eaves from the ground. We don’t lean ladders on the gutter, climb on the porch roof, or trample the borders. That keeps the fascia, guttering, and your garden exactly where you want them.
What customers say about our soft-wash
[TESTIMONIAL: ideally mentioning 'looked like new'. Example: 'The fascia was black in places. I was about to get quotes to replace it. Frog cleaned the whole house in a morning and it genuinely looks like new uPVC. Saved us a fortune.']
[Rob, Seaford]
[TESTIMONIAL: ideally mentioning paired with a window clean. Example: 'We booked the fascia clean with our regular window clean. They did it all in one visit, one direct debit, and the whole front of the house looks lifted.']
[Julie, Hailsham]
A tired-looking 4-bed in Seaford, lifted in a morning.
The owner had been getting quotes to replace the fascia after years of build-up from an overflowing gutter above the porch. We cleared the blocked gutter, soft-washed the full run of fascia and soffits, and cleaned the outside face of the uPVC guttering at the same time. The house looked like the replacement job had already been done, and the plan to fit new boards got shelved.
What's included in every soffit and fascia clean
Full external run of all accessible uPVC fascia boards. Every corner, every length, soft-washed and rinsed.
Full external run of all accessible uPVC soffits. The undersides of the eaves, brushed into the corners.
uPVC cladding, bargeboards, and dormer faces where applicable. Same method, same price structure.
Front face of uPVC guttering. Traffic film and road dust come off, the white comes back.
A check for loose sections, venting issues, or damage. Reported, not fixed. We’d rather you know.
All product rinsed off with pure water. Nothing left on windows or driveways.

Why pick us
Why choose Frog for soffit and fascia cleaning?
We’re already in the area. Because we run regular window cleaning rounds, your soft-wash booking usually slots in within the week.
Fixed prices, written on the site. You see the price before you book. No “I’ll have to measure it” or add-ons at the end.
Discount with a regular window clean. Added to a clean, a soft-wash costs less.
We know uPVC. Different ages of plastic react differently to soft-wash. We know what to expect, and we’ll tell you honestly if a board is genuinely past cleaning.
Fully insured limited company. Certificates on request for landlords, managing agents, and block managers.
No pressure washing on domestic uPVC. Pressure washing looks dramatic. It’s also how uPVC and render get damaged. We don’t use it on homes.
Getting the fascia sorted takes a couple of minutes
Here's how a soft-wash booking runs, start to finish.
Pick your property type on the pricing page.
Add soft-wash cleaning to the booking.
Flag any painted or render sections adjacent to the uPVC.
Set up the GoCardless direct debit.
We confirm the date (usually within the week), arrive, soft-wash, rinse, and tidy.
Frequently asked questions about soft-wash
How much does soffit and fascia cleaning cost in East Sussex?
Pricing is fixed by property type. A 3-bed semi starts at a set fixed price (see the pricing page for the current figure). Larger houses and more complex rooflines are priced from the same schedule.
How often should soffits and fascia be cleaned?
Most houses benefit from a clean every two to three years. Properties near trees, near a busy road, or in a sheltered spot often need a clean every 12 to 18 months. Coastal properties vary depending on exposure.
Will soft-wash damage my uPVC?
No. Soft-wash is designed for uPVC and painted surfaces. It uses a gentle chemical to break down dirt, not abrasion or high-pressure water. We never use jet washers on soffit or fascia.
Will it damage my plants?
We work around plants carefully and rinse any run-off with pure water. The soft-wash product itself is biodegradable. If you have anything delicate (a koi pond, young vegetable beds, a pet tortoise in the garden), tell us when you book.
Can you clean coloured or woodgrain uPVC?
Yes. The method is the same for white, cream, rosewood, black, and woodgrain uPVC. We’ll adjust the dwell time of the soft-wash for darker finishes if needed.
What if the fascia is beyond cleaning?
Sometimes uPVC is genuinely at the end of its life. If we get there and think cleaning won’t bring the boards back to a reasonable finish, we’ll tell you before we start and there’ll be no charge. We can recommend a local roofing contractor if replacement is the right call.
Do you clean the inside of the soffits or the roof space?
No. The clean is external only. If you suspect birds or wasps have got into the roof through a soffit vent, that’s pest control or roofer work, not cleaning.
Can you clean just the front of the house?
Yes, if you only want the front done. Most people find the back and sides bother them just as much once the front looks fresh, but it’s your call.
Do I need to be home?
No. The whole job is done from the outside. If there’s a locked gate or an alarm code, let us know when you book.
Will you clean the gutter on the outside?
Yes, the outside face of uPVC gutters is part of this job. The inside of the gutter is a separate service because it needs different kit.
Can I have this done at the same time as my window cleaning?
Yes, and you’ll save money. Existing regular window cleaning customers get a discount when soft-wash is added to a clean.
